"From Yukon River to Liverpool, United Kingdom."

The Yukon River Quest is the longest paddle race in the world: 740 km, from Whitehorse to Dawson City, Yukon, Canada. In this film, Michael F. Scraggs - orthopaedic surgeon and amputee - races solo kayak, and shares his story.

Everyone has their own race to run, testing limits of endurance and will-power. The setting is a mighty river, under the midnight sun. The theme is trauma, recovery and adaptation. Some scenes will be difficult to watch, but their message is powerful and universal.

People facing amputations, or any great tragedy, might consider watching this film. They will learn that while it’s true they’re facing a life-altering event, there will always be another race to run. A different take on amputation from the point of view of an amputee and orthopaedic surgeon - one in the same, Michael F. Scraggs, long-distance solo kayaker.
